Anger Management

Counselling Services

I stay true to my empathetic and nonjudgmental approach when it comes to counselling for anger management. This allows you to gain deeper insight, awareness, and develop skills in the counselling sessions.

Anger Management Counselling

A structured Approach

I offer a structured anger management counselling program designed to help you better understand your emotional responses, build practical coping skills, and develop healthier ways of relating to yourself and others.

This program goes beyond psychoeducation. While we will explore the psychological and emotional foundations of anger, the focus is also on practical skill-building that can be applied in real-life situations.

Skills-Based, Integrative Approach

This work draws primarily from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT). These approaches support you in identifying unhelpful thought patterns, understanding emotional triggers, and developing more effective ways of responding when emotions feel intense.

Throughout our work together, you will not only learn these skills, but also have the opportunity to practice and apply them in session. This includes grounding and regulation strategies such as the 5 senses technique, deep breathing exercises, and other mindfulness-based tools that can help bring the nervous system back into balance during moments of activation.

Building Awareness of Triggers

A key part of this program involves increasing self-awareness. Together, we will explore the patterns and triggers that contribute to anger responses. This includes identifying emotional cues, bodily sensations, thought patterns, and situational factors that may lead to escalation.

By building this awareness, you begin to create more choice and control in how you respond, rather than reacting automatically in the moment.

Emotional Regulation and Communication

Another important component of this work focuses on emotional regulation and interpersonal effectiveness.

We will work on developing healthier communication strategies, including how to express yourself clearly, set boundaries, and navigate conflict in a way that supports respect and connection.

Healthy Relationships

A portion of this counselling is dedicated to understanding what healthy relationships look like in practice. This includes exploring the dynamics of respectful communication, emotional safety, accountability, and mutual understanding.

You will leave with a clearer sense of what healthy relational patterns look like, as well as tools to help you build and maintain relationships that are more balanced and supportive.

Overall Goal

The goal of this program is help you understand anger better, regulate it more effectively, and respond in ways that align with your values and long-term wellbeing. Over time, this supports greater emotional stability, improved relationships, and a stronger sense of self-awareness and control.
